Saeed Paivandi (born 1956) is currently working as a full Professor in the University of Lorraine, Nancy, France and director of Education of Iran Academia (The Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities – Online courses). He is also Director of the Research Centre – LISEC (Interregional Laboratory of Science of Education and Communication). Prior to this, he was associated as a senior faculty with the University of Paris 8 (1996-2011). Saeed Paivandi holds Habilitation (HDR), Ph.D. and Master degree in Sociology of Education from University of Paris 8 and Master in Sociology from University of Tehran. His areas of research and specialization are Sociology of Curriculum, Sociology of Higher Education, Education Policy, Learning & Teaching in Higher Education and Adult Education. He has 10 books (4 as editor) and 45 articles and chapters of book. “Apprendre à l’Université” (Learning at University) (2015, De Boeck) and “Equity in Higher Education: A Global Perspective” (Paivandi & Joshi, 2016) are his last two books published since 2015. He also worked on the experience of the Islamization of the school and the University in Iran. His critical book on the discourse of the education system “Discrimination and Intolerance in Iran’s Textbooks” was published in 2008.
